KIRAR

Kirar is a five-or-six stringed bowl-shaped lyre. Unless we catagorize kirar as a smaller version of Begena , we can’t find it as a mezmur instrument in the bible though we could find it in different mezmurs now adays.

Krar (Amharic: ክራር) is a five-or-six stringed bowl-shaped lyre from Ethiopia and Eritrea. It is tuned to a pentatonic scale. A modern Krar may be amplified, much in the same way as an electric guitar or violin.
